Fran Christian reflective practice

Reflective Practice

Reflective Practice is a process of taking a step back from the immediate action and thinking about what we can learn from it that might support our development.

It provides a space to acknowledge and contain the feelings that might arise in our work and offers an opportunity to work collaboratively to find solutions to complex situations.

Mostly I facilitate group reflective practice which offers the additional benefit of being able to connect with colleagues, share experiences and learn from each other’s practice.

I am a trained reflective practice facilitator and have experience of working with staff, managers and senior leadership teams in a range of settings including youth homelessness, domestic abuse and sexual violence, youth work, crisis accommodation and community development.

I am able to offer both one off and regular reflective practice for groups of staff or individuals and can work with you to consider whether reflective practice might be beneficial for your organisation.

Testimonials

  • “ In each reflective practice Fran has met us with empathy, understanding and warmth. Fran has facilitated a safe space for us to cry, rant, laugh and just be in silence.”

    Beth, Reflective practice group participant.

  • "I always leave my reflective practice sessions feeling lighter and 'held'. I feel that Fran is always in tune with the atmosphere and mood in the group. Fran allows me to 'land' in reflective practice so that I am able to use the space and time intentionally and makes me feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable with her and my colleagues.”

    Kim, Reflective practice group participant.
